TMB (The Marketing Bungalow) is a full-service boutique creative design and marketing agency, working with brands and businesses at all stages. We make things happen from our happy and bright studio in Caringbah, Sutherland Shire. We work hard, love all forms of creating and never say no to a good wonton soup or a team dinner and cocktails.

We are looking for someone who is an experienced content and communications specialist who does what they do because they genuinely enjoy it and take pride in doing it well.

You know how to skilfully develop content ideas, copy and briefs ensuring they are amplified to reach the client audience in the most engaging way possible – whether through an influencer, organic content, being reactive to a trend/meme that plugs the brand into the conversation or through smart targeted paid media. You will have access to a fantastic design team who can deliver everything from stock photo image tiles to custom animated gifs and movie files. The sky is your limit.

Being versatile and collaborative is key – tasks could range from leading or helping to create content, being a champion of community management, scrolling stock image libraries for the perfect pic or storyboarding and art directing an end to end content video. It’s about being one step ahead of the pack, having intelligent fun and making our clients look really, really good.

As a fast growing and small team, your role will be a critical stakeholder that can bring our strategic and creative sides together seamlessly. You feel comfortable attending client briefings and are capable of presenting innovative ideas and developing and implementing social media advertising and organic strategy, SEO best practice, end to end retail campaigns, e-commerce results, B2B comms and everything else we do to meet the needs of our diverse B2B and B2C portfolio.

Reporting directly to the Creative Director and working closely on a daily basis with our graphic design team and digital account coordinator your responsibilities will include:

  • Following briefs set by the Creative Director.

  • Being the lead content and comms go to for our ‘king of the castle’ clients.

  • Mapping a content and comms plan and calendar for each business in our portfolio.

  • Creating & managing multiple social media accounts including scheduling, tagging and sharing (we told you we get our hands dirty 😉).

  • Create editorial calendars and comms schedules.

  • Creating and editing content regularly for approval of the Creative Director.

  • Monthly reporting on engagement, insights, reach and conversions with accountable data and then acting on the information.

  • Receive written or verbal briefs ensuring a clear understanding of critical requirements, interpreting the concepts to be communicated, and demonstrating strategies to deliver a clear message to the required target audience.

  • Seek out and recommend further opportunities by researching the latest trends so we can stay at the forefront with social media, email, SMS and search engine marketing for our clients.

  • Help to develop campaign proposals, including concept insight, rationale and roll out for existing and new clients.

  • Assisting in coordinating photo/video shoots plus other content activations and content creator collabs.

  • Be client-facing with our ‘king of the castle’ clients to ensure their happiness (even when you’re having a bad day, hey it happens 😛)

  • Ensuring content & campaigns are on tone, on-brand and effective in achieving the broader brand objectives and is of the highest possible quality.

  • Analysing social media activity daily and ensuring it is hitting client objectives.

  • Overseeing and running all content and communication components for all clients.

  • Support the development of benchmarks and data-informed targets, particularly for SEO, EDM and social media best practice.

  • Manage the email marketing comms and content strategy for all clients.

  • Daily monitoring of clients social media accounts, including responding to and engaging directly with audiences in a timely and authentic manner.

  • Monitor the performance of social media channels through regular reporting and analysis.

  • Monitor the performance of competitor content/activity, industry trends, and provide actionable insights and best practices.

  • Work with the TMB Owner / Creative Director to create and deliver marketing strategies for clients and regularly review and update strategies.

  • Ensure brand alignment and integration of the customer journey across all clients and digital channels.

  • Content and comms management of client blogs and websites.

  • Ad-hoc tasks as required by the management.

  • Organise and assist at events and production promo shoots.

Essential requirements

  • Two years + proven content and communications experience agency or client-side

  • A degree or tertiary qualification in marketing or communications.

  • Strong administration and organisational skills and experience.

  • Powerful copywriting skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas. You are a Communication natural, know what the term ‘active voice’ means and how to apply it and, can demonstrate with examples of your skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, Wix, Sprout Social, MailChimp, Shopify, CMS platforms, Survey Monkey, WordPress, Facebook Ads Manager, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Social Shopping, Google Analytics, Google Business, Google SEO tools and other marketing software is highly regarded.

  • Experience with graphic design software (e.g. Photoshop, Acrobat and InDesign) is an advantage but not essential.

  • Strong experience with a brand or brands.

  • Client communication experience.

  • Experience in Influencer management and campaigns.

  • Creating and testing advertisements.

  • Data analysis and optimisation.

  • Be a positive force that adds enthusiasm and knowledge to our team.

  • Strong portfolio of work you can share at your interview.

  • Confident in managing multiple projects at a time, master of multi-tasking.

  • Possess attention to detail (details matter a lot at TMB, like so much), creative drive, initiative and vision.

  • Confident communicator and brand guidelines gatekeeper across all brand touchpoints.

  • Cool-headed in a fast-paced environment, and on your game when it comes to short deadlines.
